5 Myths About Lube Debunked

It's Monday morning and I'm already wet! Jk - I did have a great aka wet weekend though & a big part if it was a new lube I got (Foria's CBD lube 'Awaken' or 'the best orgasm I've ever had' as I renamed it...) So I thought why not debunk a few myths about lube and why there's a match for everyone!

5 Myths About Lube
Debunked

...and which one's the right fit for you!

Lubrication of the vagina (aka a wet pussy, because science is more fun that way) happens when a woman is properly aroused and stimulated. It's a prerequisite to sex, as the friction of penetration would otherwise tear her vaginal lining and just plainly cause pain. Thanks, Dr. Lara.

There's several reasons why a woman doesn't lubricate enough; stress, insufficient arousal, medication, menopause, you name it. So God invented lube! Ok, people did and not because anything's "wrong" & not just for penis in vagina sex..
.

I meet a lot of people who say "what would I need lube for?" or "I don't need to use lube," like a badge of honor.
Let's dispel some of those misconceptions, shall we, because the RIGHT lube will 100% up your sex life!

1. All Lubes Are Equal

FALSE.

Get this: lube isn't regulated by the FDA so brands can put whatever they want in it! Let that sink in for a second (just don't let it sink into the most vulnerable part of your body!) Read up on harmful ingredients here but to keep it short: please AVOID K-Y Jelly at all cost & look at the ingredients! Other than that, there're 3 kinds of lubes:

1. Water-based
-the most common lube
-dries out more quickly & needs to be re-applied more often
-works well with condoms & toys

2. Silicon-based
-not absorbed by skin so it holds for longer!
-good with latex condoms
-has gotten a bad rep health-wise but it depends on the brand
-not good to use with certain sex toys, as it breaks them down over time

3. Oil-based
-the most natural & additive-free lubes out there are oiled based
-they DON'T work with latex condoms though, so be careful!
-long lasting

2. Only Frigid People Need Lube

FALSE.

Duh. There's many reasons why you might want to use lube: if it's more difficult for the woman to lubricate for WHATEVER reason, to enhance the sensation even if she's already lubricated, to introduce a new stimulant like CBD or THC into your play (like the Foria lube I freaking LOVE), to use all kinds of sex toys AND last but not least: if you're into anal play!!!
Or if you're frigid of course. LOL.

3. Too Much Is Too Much!

TRUE.

There's actually such a thing as too much lube! It'll take away from sensations if you're over-lubricated, so start with smaller doses. Also condoms can become slippery if you use too much lube. Uhh, no thanks.

4. Just Use Things Around The House

TRUE and FALSE!

Ever run out of lube or hooked up with some silly non-lube believer who then asked if you want to have anal sex? Me neither!! Lol. If we'll ever find ourselves in that situation, here a few household staples that you can and cannot use instead of lube:

DOs:
Olive oil & coconut oil are great (I actually tried) and many people use baby oil as well! Just FYI- these will NOT work with a condom.. it'll rip and you'll regret ever opening the pantry,

DON'Ts:
Many people use Vaseline but it can actually irritate the vagina (it's made out of petroleum after all...) Also stay away from anything that has sugar in it: honey, jam or flavored bath oils are not friends of your pussy and will probably give you a yeast infection. Hard pass.

4. I Don't Need Lube With A Lubricated Condom

FALSE.

Condoms are important for mankind. But have you ever had hours of amazing sex with a condom wearing man (yes this is a girl scenario) just to not be able to walk the next day because you're so freaking RAW?! Condoms don't lubricate, people. At all. So please do yourself and/or your partner a favor and flavor that condom with some lube! Ok that sentence barely works but you get the gist.
Hail the lube and the marathon sex! Now I'm horny. Quelle surprise!
